Sweet Georgia Brown! Or should I say, "Sweet Fulton County Board of Commissioners"? Earlier today, following pressure from PETA, concerned members of the community, and celebrities like Demi Moore, the board approved a ban on the use of bullhooks—batons with a sharp metal hook on the end that are used to hit captive elephants in order to keep them fearful and obedient.
Because elephants traveling to Fulton County can't be jabbed or beaten with these ugly devices, circuses like Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and other traveling shows will have to leave them behind.
If you're as happy about this as we are, please send a note of appreciation to the Board and commend it for its compassionate decision.

Ringling and Bros. ought to be banned and should have been banned by people throughout the USA and where ever else they do shows. I will never attend one of these events!!! Total ignorance and stupidity on behalf of these idiots called workers and management...why haven't these people evolved?
Everytime I see a video like this I cry. I cringe and look away as I can't stand seeing such beauitful creatures being so hurt by humans. I agree with Marilyn Morgan, I've never EVER hurt an animal in anyway. Any type of ban is good.... I just wish there were much harsher charges on humans. If a human bashed and tortured another human like that they would be brought to justice straight away. Animals lives are no less then humans.
