'Win It' Wednesday: Sasha Grey Book

Sasha Grey, who struck a pose in a PETA ad promoting spaying and neutering, is letting her artistic side show in her new photography collection, Neϋ Sex, which she calls a "visual mosaic" of thought-provoking artistic expression in self-portraits and photographs.

Sasha's first photography show goes on display at a Los Angeles art gallery today, but two PETA Files readers will be able to peruse the whole collection at home anytime they want. Just tell us what you have done to promote spaying and neutering, and the two most inspiring answers will each win an autographed copy of Neü Sex.

The contest will end on May 18, 2011, with the winner chosen on May 20, 2011. Be sure to read our privacy policy and terms and conditions, as you're agreeing to both by commenting.

Every dog or cat I have owned has been spayed or neutered, and I also volunteer with local groops that seek to ensure animals get good homes and spay/neuter any animials that they aid in the addoption process of.

13 years ago my sponsor said "You want a girlfriend? How about you get a dog first, and see how that works out." So, off to the Humane Society I go....and fell in love with the most beautiful Belgian Tervuren ever! Well, since then, the girls have come and gone... (well, some more than others... ;>) but my "Recovery Dog" is still with me, and she is doing great!! Anytime I hear someone even thinking about getting a puppy....I am right in there....saying "you REALLY need to go to the Humane Society, and at least look them over first!" Truly, only a Higher Power could have brought such a loyal companion into my life! (Sasha...SO proud of you!!!! Great job, and I hope the best for you!!!!)

As a veterinary technician I see the horrific results of animals that have not been spayed or neutered (owners having to give them away due to aggression, unwanted puppies or kittens being tossed into the trash, testicular and ovarian cancer). At our clinic we emphasize the spaying and neutering of pets daily to clients. I also personally think it should be some sort of law that you MUST fix your pets unless you're a licensed breeder... i could go on forever but I hope my point is made :)

every pet i've ever had, i've had spayed or neutered, and i've got friends who work at different animal clinics, and i keep their business cards b/c not only can i refer people to them to get their animals spayed/neutered, but i also know that pets adopted from them will be spayed/neutered. getting a free book would be a nice validation.

Here in Russia too much stray animals. They multiply without control; gather into flock; attacks on people with heavy harm to health are not rare. To defend society from stray animals` aggression human beings from time to time arrange real genocide! It`s horrible and disgusting! First human takes full responsibility for an animal. Then after playing a bit with puppet or kitten this “human” throws it on the street. Cruelty comes from cruelty. I had a little cat, I loved her so much. Due to life circumstances I was to leave my hometown and leave my kitten with my aunt. Recognizing full responsibility I spayed my cat. Now Myra has an opportunity to leave in near to nature conditions. She hunts mice, communicate with other cats, sleep in the warmth. She lives full-cat-life and at the same time surrounded with human care. My aunt unfortunately doesn't have necessary conditions and opportunities to support a large number of cats. If not spaying my aunt had to choose between throw out kittens from Myra or even kill them. I am sure I did everything right. With my friends we often discuss problem of stray animals in Russia. We all have pets and we sincerely concerned on the problem of inhumane treatment of animals. We organized the club, members of which do simple things. We find stray animals and bring them home, wash, medical care, spaying and neutering without fail. Then we look for new owners via social networks. Of course, it`s a drop in the bucket. But we do not lose faith, that our activity will inspire other people and they will treat animals with more responsibility.
