Last week, we told you about Tucson, Arizona, restaurant owner Bryan Mazon's plan to serve lion tacos as part of his "Exotic Taco Wednesdays" promotion. Apparently, thousands of people took to Facebook to ask Mazon to reconsider. And he did! Mazon announced that his restaurant will not be serving the king of the jungle after all.
Now that a lion has been saved from slaughter (or possibly from being shot on a cruel canned hunting ranch), you might want to take a moment to thank Mazon for making this lifesaving decision. Written by Michelle Sherrow
Again, as I've mentioned - there was already precedent STOPPING the sale of an endangered species for food here. That happened during World Cup and the lion burgers. It's illegal to begin with - so I don't think Facebook did THAT much to persuade him not to sell lion meat.
The fellow was dumb to think that his idea would be different than the already passed one regarding the burgers.
I'll thank him when he cancels his ridiculous "exotic wednesday" promotion altogether.
In fact, he'll only deserve my thanks when he realizes that all animals deserve to be spared and stops selling all animal products altogether.
(He may also need to look into his soul and to realize that the "almighty dollar" is not a justification for one's actions)
