Seal Enemy Number One, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, was seeing double (or rather, quadruple) at a dinner marking the anniversary of his fifth year in office. More than a dozen PETA members, including some wearing masks of Harper spewing blood, joined Sammy the Seal in braving minus-32 temperatures to swarm the Ottawa Hampton Inn, where the dinner took place.
Five years of turning a blind eye to the largest marine-mammal massacre on the planet doesn't really seem like anything to celebrate, does it?

@Jadewarlock: There was actually 20 of us there, but only depicted 4 protesters in this particular picture. To the contrary, it DOES make an impact, off of a busy major street with many passerby's and policitians. Better than staying at home, watching tv and not doing any advocacy for this cause. Actions speak louder than words...
jadewarlock, we were not trying to get Harper's attention - we know that he does not care and that we are not going to succeed in changing his mind. We are getting media attention by doing this, educating Canadians about the seal slaughter (I'm the one in the red jacket).
And we did have an impact - tons of people going by in their cars gave us thumbs up or honked at us.
Loving those masks!
Most likely Harper ignored the protesting and continued on with his meal.
Four people in cardboard masks and a seal does not make much of an impact.
this is a marvellous stunt even if i don't like to see this jerk four times but rather not at all! may he bite the dust!
