Pop sensation Rihanna has signed on with Parlux Fragrances Inc. to create her own perfume, Reb'l Fleur. Since Parlux signed PETA's statement of assurance in 1995 pledging not to conduct or pay others to conduct tests on animals, this move is a step in the right direction toward a cruelty-free life for Rihanna.
We sent the "Reb'l Fleur" (a nickname given to Rihanna by her grandmother) a bouquet of flowers to thank her for partnering with a compassionate company.
"Rihanna's decision to team up with Parlux is as kind to animals as her music is to your ears," says PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews. "By renouncing animal tests, Parlux is proving that beauty doesn't have to have an ugly side.
Sing "Live Your Life", order your cruelty-free shopping guide, and create a little less disturbia for the world, right?

One good step leads to another. Let's hope she ditches the fur!
I was recently at a holiday crafts fair were I was drawn to an exhibition booth with tee shirts with the PETA logo, imagine my horror when I read: People Eating Tasty Animals! Isn't this use of the PETA logo illegal?
Seriously, Rihanna is one of the biggest fur hags out there today. My money won't go to buying her perfume. It's not cruelty free if the money she makes off of it goes to buying more animal skins.
re: Jodyh. PETA is currently updating the PETA Files to be compatible with the latest versions of the iPad and iPhone software. The PETA Files should be up and running on these devices shortly.
Re: Sammie. PETA has always, and continues to, strongly urge Rihanna to go fur-free. However, we welcome any and all efforts that minimize suffering inflicted on animals. PETA, therefore, applauds Rihanna for taking the first step to a cruelty-free lifestyle, and continues to encourage her to ditch the fur.
I'm going to have to disagree with PETA's choice on this one. I highly doubt Rihanna cares whether or not the company tests on animals. Chances are, they still use animal materials. And Rihanna still wears fur and leather. If PETA is going to send flowers to anybody, it should be to celebrities who truly follow a cruelty-free lifestyle.
Yayy for Rihanna!! I love her perfume! It smells so good!
Because not everyone shares the same opinion and she may be more in favour of helping the third world.
Why can't I read these PETA files on my iPad?
Oh - great minds think alike. I was just going to post the same comment. Come on Rhianna - are you still going to wear fur ? We are all watching you !!!
