Yes, you read that right. The guy whose name has become synonymous with hanging, electrocuting, drowning, and shooting dogs and forcing them to rip each other to pieces in dogfighting rings is now bemoaning the fact that he can't have a canine companion.
No need for immediate concern. Vick has been banned from owning dogs for three years as part of his probation. PETA believes that no one who abuses dogs as Vick did should ever be allowed to have access to vulnerable animals again. And really, being prohibited from experiencing the unconditional love of a dog is a tiny price to pay—much smaller than the ultimate price paid by the dogs Vick abused and killed at Bad Newz Kennels.

The arrogance of this man is astounding!! Does he really believe we don't know that he IS still a KILLER. Rehabilitated?!! Yeah, right. I love football but HATE the Phila Eagles and the NFL for letting him back in. He should have gotten his "second chance" cleaning up dog poop at the SPCA.
I want to explain why the president of the Humane Society said he should have a dog. The humane society is working with children/young adults who are involved in dogfighting or at risk to get involved. So they're using Michael Vick to try to deter these children. I guess they are going for affecting change in the greatest number of people at risk of getting involved in dog fighting. It's a compromise they're making hoping to do greater good. I'm appalled at Michael Vick as much as anyone else but I'm glad the Humane Society may be lessening dog fighting. I don't work for the humane society or anything. I just tried to find the answer to the president's comment because I didn't understand why he would say that.
