Caring folks continue to plead for basic compassion at SeaWorld and call on officials to enforce anti-cruelty laws. But Tilikum, the orca who has killed three people, is still confined to a cramped, claustrophobic tank that's barely bigger than the size of his body to prevent him from having any physical contact with the trainers—except when they masturbate him.
Rock and roll's bad boy and PETA friend, Tommy Lee, who's been known to raise a few eyebrows, was blown away to learn about SeaWorld's perverted treatment of Tilly—and expresses his disgust in this letter to officials:
Terry W. PratherPresident, SeaWorld Dear Mr. Prather, After learning about the bizarre way you breed killer whales, my friends at PETA and I are stumped about SeaWorld's announcement that no people will ever again have direct contact with Tilikum, the orca who has killed 3 people including his trainer this year. We understand that you refuse to release this frustrated whale because he is your chief sperm bank, and we know from SeaWorld's own director of safety (as well as videos on the web) that the way you get his sperm is by having someone get into the pool and masturbate him with a cow's vagina filled with hot water. Even during my wildest days with Motley Crue, I never could've imagined something so sick and twisted. Simply put, how can SeaWorld claim that trainers no longer have direct contact with this whale when they are jacking him off? That is about as "direct" as it gets. I hope it doesn't take another tragic death for SeaWorld to realize it shouldn't frustrate these smart animals by keeping them in tanks. Sincerely,Tommy Lee

Dear Mr. Prather,

It's perfect-Lee put, wouldn't you say? Please back Tommy up—and speak out for Tilly— by writing to SeaWorld too.

I find it funny how everyone says to let the whale go.That would be almost as cruel as keeping it in a tank.Does anyone remember Keiko the whale? He was captured in the wild and raised in captivity and then released back into the wild.He died lonely and sick because all he knew was human companionship. He also had to be taught how to find food. The immunity to foriegn bacteria that these captive whales don't have should be considered as well. These animals shouldn't be captured from the wild and captive breeding needs to be stopped, but releasing captive whales into the wild would almost be the equivalent to taking a dog that you have had your whole life and then dropping it off in the middle of nowhere and expecting it to survive. It is cruel and it does nothing but make the people feel better and is not necessarily the beast thing for the whale.
These animals shouldn't be in tanks, especially ones that are this small but where are they supposed to put him? It's not like there are a huge amount of gigantic whale tanks waiting around.
I think the fact that they are continuing to plan on breeding whales in captivity is stupid. It needs to stop. But seriously, people need to think about what would be best for the whale and it sure is not the wild.I am a marine biology major and i love these animals but people need to realize that you can't just release him.
What is wrong with these people????????????????????? Unreal
How would they let this animal go? Its obviously extreamly dangerous. Its used to humans, therefore likely to approach them, and would present an extreame potential threat to harm another person. It would also lack the survival skills that natural born whales posess, which would make it very hard for the whale to survive without human assistance. Honestly, think before you speak, releasing this animal is compleatly illogical.
Well, at least now we know how that whale got his name:
Stroke my junk:
Till(I)Kum
Well after reading this I don't think my family and I will be going to seaworld in Feb! I really hope this isn't true if it is then seaworld have shocked me and really upset me!
Well I guess it's "FREE TILLY". If only Seaworld had glass walls so everyone can see the barbaric way you treat animals...you need to be put out of business!
this masturbation of animals happens all over the place not just sea world.
they do it in animals that are endanger due to low numbers from being hunted and oh wait Humans moving into their natural live space. so all the animal lovers need to think about that as well. I love animals just as much as the next PETA member. but humans need to think about what they are doing when that are building the next sub-division to move hordes of humans in to and that next mall so you can buy all your animal friendly products.
it makes me sick to hear people out there protesting things like this, yet they forget about their on impact on what they are doing when building their homes, shopping, and entertainment places.
I have said enough to upset the lot of you all.
have a good day.
Wtf? Is Sea World sickly unhinged?!?! Thanks Tommy for your letter!!
It's very sad, and pathetic that there aren't laws on the books to protect these beautiful and amazing creatures from this abuse. This shows that "Animals for Entertainment" is dreadfully wrong. SeaWorld needs to close it's doors for good, and stop using animals for financial gain!!
