… to the meat of the countless cows, chickens, pigs, and other animals who suffer immensely because of her flesh fixes. So PETA is offering to help pay for Lindsay Lohan's recovery from substance addiction—if she gives up meat. We're also sending her the DVD "Glass Walls," narrated by Sir Paul McCartney, and our vegetarian/vegan starter kit.
If she takes us up on our offer, Lindsay is certain to benefit too. In the U.S., eating animal-derived products exposes consumers to antibiotics, steroids, hormones, pesticides, E. coli, fecal matter, and other potentially harmful substances. A clean vegan diet can provide all the nutrients that a person needs—and all the fabulous flavors that a person wants—minus the unhealthy contaminants, saturated fat, and cholesterol that are found in animal flesh, eggs, and dairy. Plus, vegans have stronger immune systems than meat-eaters—and stay leaner than bacon and egg lovers.
And, of course, a crucial part of any recovery is showing charity to others. There's no better way to be kind to thinking, feeling animals, the Earth, and one's own body—three times a day—than by kicking an addiction to animal-derived products.
Sound mind, sound body—sounds great! We hope, hope, hope that Lindsay takes us up on our offer, but we also realize that addictions are hard to shake. Her many fans are watching every step she takes, so if she agrees to give up meat, she'll not only help herself but also the many people she influences. We'll let you know what she decides.

I would love to meet the people who come up with PETA's ad campaigns - they never let me down and always shock me slightly. I love this about this organization - PETA are hilarious, clever and cutting-edge. If you are complaining about the tactics of this organization, perhaps it is because you simply don't get it.
I can't wait for the next PETA adventure.
People donate money to PETA every year to help animals....not Hollywood stars with drug problems. What difference is it going to make if Lindsay becomes a vegan inside rehab or outside of it. She has been a horrible role model for our children & probably has ruined her own career with her abuses.
DON'T GIVE HER THE MONEY PETA!!
Why would you offer this fur wearing idiot $20K to go vegan? I have been a vegan for 10 years and am finishing my PhD in biogeochemistry at a top research university this year. I'd love to be a spokesperson for PETA and would be a stable, informed, and constant supporter of animal rights, as I have been for over a decade. Unlike many celebrities, I am not a vegan because it is trendy or for media attention. Why won't PETA help me pay off my student loans, instead of wasting money on Lohan? In return, they can use my scientific knowledge to forward their cause.
I took the pledge to veg and I got a thank you email. If LiLo takes it she gets $50,000 to pay for her own self-destructive behaviors?! Please tell me this is a joke. It definitely makes me reconsider donating to PETA, because that's not a way I'm comfortable with donations being spent. If you're going to give money away, let's try a different outlet, that doesn't involve bribery and rewarding someone's self-destruction. I'm really saddened by this.
