Penny Lancaster's Mercury Misery

Written by PETA

Rod Stewart's wife, Penny Lancaster, is the latest celebrity to reveal that a fish-heavy diet caused her mercury levels to be "really high, off the scale."

In an interview with Hello magazine, Penny discusses her struggle to conceive another child—an effort that was hampered by fish! "My doctor said it was unhealthy to have so much mercury in my body, and also for conceiving babies," says Penny. "After two months of not eating fish, my mercury levels dropped by half, which is scary—I had no idea what the fish had been doing to my body."

If you still eat fish, you owe it to yourself to find out what fish could be doing to your body. Then order a copy of PETA's free vegetarian/vegan starter kit.
