Apparently, some people have gotten so impatient when it comes to satisfying their hunger that they can no longer wait for someone to kill their food for them. "Exotic eaters" are resorting to eating live octopi, and it has sparked a lively PETA HQ debate, which I need your help to win.

P.S. I have concluded (after minimal thought) that so-called "exotic eaters" and I have absolutely zilch in common. My definition of exotic tends to stray toward pyramids and belly dancers.

Michelle Are you suggesting that 6 billion people should commit suicide? Would that include you your friends and family? All I have to say to that is you first. There is such negativity in here about our fellow man. Just remember everytime you talk about how terrible we all are remember you are to blame also. Furthtermore you need to give the planet and animals more credit they are pretty resilient.

This isn't a new concept. People have been eating animals while they are still alive for centuries. what's even more disturbing is that people can die from eating octopus. Their tentacles will latch onto the person's throat and choke them to death.

There is one thing you need to know These animals will attack the human body if they're not carefully eaten. There have been deaths of the human from the octopus using their suckers and basically tearing holes in the person's stomach. Now I eat meat I won't deny that. However I don't like anyone eating live animals or that fish dish where the animal is still alive. That is cruel.

Humans are not actually designed to be omnivores. Everything about our physiology is designed for a herbivore diet. Our jaws our teeth our intestines and our stomach acid are the same as herbivores. Check out the basic science behind it and you will see. And I agree with one of the posts above humans are fked up!! We are completely destroying this planet with our socalled "superior" ways. Humans should go extinct and let the planet recover and allow the nonpolluting nongreedy earthlings to live life the way they were intended.

people who need to get cheap thrills from eating live animals must lead really pathetic lives. I saw this years ago on the food or travel channelJapanese business men were eating from a fish laying on a plate. The fish's gills were still moving as they were picking flesh from its poor body. It must have been 15 years ago and I still have not forgotten this.

i think we're going backwards instead of forward we supposed to be civilised yet we now eating animalsfish still alive and moving. i like claudia am proud to say i'm veg. and just a little message for ben my dog loves raw carrots lol.

On one episode of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern he does this. Basically they cut up the octopus while it's still alive and the tentacles keep moving for awhile after they've been detached. So sick and wrong! Zimmern made a comment along the lines of "It's trying to make a prison break!" when one tentacle tried to curl outside of his mouth. He spent the majority of that segment going on and on about how cool it felt to eat something that was still squirming. I thought I was going to be sick to my stomach watching it but of course I couldn't turn away P Last time I ever watched that show though.
