SeaWorld may have animal ~~pimp~~ "entertainer" Jack Hanna in its corner, but Tilly has Jean-Michel Cousteau on his side.

The world-renowned French explorer, environmentalist, film producer and, of course, son of Jacques-Yves Cousteau has issued a brief video statement addressing the cruelty and danger of keeping killer whales and dolphins imprisoned in marine amusement parks. Please don't miss this one, folks:

I know the consensus's belief is likely to be that of public exposure and admittedly my initial fascination with orcas and other cetaceans began at an early age at the nowdefunct Cleveland SeaWorld but with the growing aggregations of channels on cable and satellite programming along with the giant that is the internet there are other avenues for education and these animals deserve freedom. We all cheered for Willy to be free but yet we ignore the plights of reallife Willies every single day.

A couple of arguments constantly sprout for keeping these shows going It's FOR THE CHILDREN and It's EDUCATIONAL . And very few dare to be "against" the children or "against" education .

Unfortunately there's always going to be that ignorant tourist and tourists makes up a very large percent of the audience for animal entertainers. Its not the locals that go to these attractions. Its the same in Thailand and Africa Elephant rides and the ridiculous soccer matchesRoadside zoos Sea World....

Please I hope Jack Hanna and all the people involved in training and becoming trainers listen to this message it is so important it's time to do what is right we can learn more from these orcas and dolphins in their own habitat then we ever can from what they do for us at SeaWorld I will not support Seaworld any longer my family and I will never go there and hope many other families feel the same way and start teaching their children that it is a place of abuse and that to learn from these creatures is to read books and watch the professionals who teach about them from their own environment such as marine bioligists oceanographers and many other teachers we know so much about dinosaurs and we love them and have never actually seen one in real life but we can see these animals in their natural habitat due to film and they are not camera shy they give us many stories of themselves in the ocean. I am hurt and disappointed in the human race that we can develop so much technology but cannot see past our own ignorance on something so clear as this. It is shameful and heartbreaking but I know my children see the truth because I have taught them and what SeaWorl os now is a sickening display to them at this time.

'Keeping echolocationanimals in a pool is like blindfolding people and keeping them in jail cells' well put. The coldhearted head of SeaWorld said that we don't learn from orcas 'through binoculars' I believe profit is one of the blindfolds over his eyes.
