As you know, the situation in Haiti is dire, and aid is still desperately needed for all victims of the earthquake. Last week, PETA joined the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH) to assist animals in the area—this week, PETA staff members are baking their buns off for this weekend's national vegan fundraiser, and all proceeds will go toward helping the victims of this disaster. Our vegan desserts and treats are sure to be delicious and—since we'll be following baking tips from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine—healthy.
Want to get involved? Check the long list of bake-sale participants at Post Punk Kitchen—if there isn't an event organized in your area, sign up to organize one. Then tell us which one (or three!) of PCRM's recipes you'll be making.

We share your concern about Man vs. Wild, and you are right to be upset by the callous use of animals in this show. There is no excuse for mistreating or depicting the mistreatment of animals for the sake of entertainment and ratings, and we hope that you will take a moment to voice your objections to Discovery, if you haven’t already. It is vital that network executives hear from motivated individual viewers like you in addition to hearing from animal rights organizations like PETA. It sends a clear message that the public does not support the unkind treatment of animals. You can contact Discovery using the following information:

---"I don't know if anyone else has seen the show 'Man vs. Wild' but I have and I find it very upsetting! He fakes getting lost with the help of his camera crew and wild life professionals to show you how to survive if you do get lost. This includes how to catch kill and eat innocent animals for no reason since he really isn't starving! A lot of the time he just takes a bite or two out of them and goes on. Sometimes he doesn't even kill them first! Is there anything we can do besides boycott the show which I am now doing? let me know!"--- Those innocent animals do the very same thing Bear does in those situations sometimes. He kills to survive. Really, go put your self in that situation and still be a vegan. I find it hard to be absolutely close to nature and not kill to live. Be a vegan and DIE. Be a part of this earth, kill other animals, and LIVE. Hows that for natural selection?
