Chicken-Feces Sculpture of Colonel Sanders?

Let me count the ways … in which PETA's proposed chicken-feces sculpture of Colonel Sanders would be a perfect centerpiece for downtown Corbin, Kentucky, where Sanders set up ~~mass-murder~~ shop in the 50s.

The city of Corbin has plans to erect a bronze statue of Colonel Sanders, but before the city memorializes the Colonel, we want to remind everyone of the filth and suffering that the millions of chickens killed for KFC are forced to endure. Could you think of a more appropriate way to honor Sanders' legacy of cruelty, obesity, and possible racial insensitivity than with the same thing KFC's full of?

Athough I like the orginal recipe of KFC but I do not eat their chicken anymore when I found out the filth and inhuman way that the chickens were forced to suffer. Thanks to PETA for exposing factory farmed animals.

Live and let live means let the animals live too. We seem to imagine that we have the right to all and anything we desire at all times. The point about Colonel Sanders is that the people in this town believe this is good and do not understand the impact bad food has on people and the horror of factory farming. The slaughter of the animals the low wages and healthcare problems of the workers the pollution and problems of waste removal the ecoli and salmonella in the chickens. The feces and rat hair in the food. The incredible fat and obesity problem in this country. Because there is a blind eye towards these issues Colonel Sanders get a statue. It will eventually fall because it based on a false view of what is good. Really the truth will eventually prevail.

Everyone tries to be right all the timeIt is about love and respect yes respect to animals and the so called coronel has none for rights of the animals whom do suffer unnecessary please be civilized the fact we are all manipulatted does not mean animals will not be defended I love all animals including the ignorants humans we also have to live with.

Hi everyone ie on both sides of the argumemnt I am management person who is not for globalism and mass production and against corrupt corporate behavior which was the cause of this recession exporting our jobs and misery for decades to come in and incrementally progressive way. But I am offended when we forget the cut throught and manipulative actions towatds people and nations and we dedicate our efforts towards chicken. Give me a break. Families and nations throughts are being cut every day by corporations and governments and manipulaitons in the name of profit or patriotism. Lobbyists are the real fascists look what happened to the health care bill. One more thing I read this bumper sticker yesterday along similar demagogic lines If facism ever comes to the US it will perhaps be carrying a cross and wrapped with a flag."

I am from Corbin Kentucky and by you saying that Colonel Sanders set up a "mass murder" shop is down right rude and offensive to the people of this town. There are war memorials up all over the country for generals who killed innocent women and children. Why not protest them? Just because a KFC slaughter house was found to be inhumane does not mean that all KFC slaughter houses are inhumane. Colonel Sanders and KFC is a part of our culture in Corbin Kentucky and we are proud of him. I know that as American citzens you have the right to peacefully protest what ever you want to protest. But today I am going to stand up for ever proud MEATEATER who enjoys KFC and other places like it. We have the right to eat meat wear fur and go hunting just as much as you have the right to protest it. So please don't take it personally when I tell you to drop it leave Corbin alone and Colonel Sanders. And I'll leave you with some good parting words that could really help you'll out LIVE AND LET LIVE. Peace

I'll give PETA this much they do at least understand Sanders was indeed a real person. Too often they think of him as a caricature. Still making a manure sculpture is a. a health hazard in its own right and b. in effect shows PETA in a way supporting him. It's best that it's ignored and not protested it draws more attention to the subject than anything. I didn't even know about the sculpture myself and wouldn't have cared either way if it wasn't pulled here. Basically ignorance can be bliss PETA You in default got people to pay attention to the wrong thing.
