Abortion Debaters to Get Schooled at Notre Dame

Two things we at PETA never pass up: vegan ice cream and opportunities to educate others about the benefits of a vegetarian diet. (I call it giving them a "vegucation.")

Pro-life Catholic students and faculty at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., are in a tizzy about President Obama's scheduled commencement address on Sunday. So, of course, we're erecting two pro-vegetarian billboards this weekend at Notre Dame to remind both sides of the abortion debate that a diet free of slaughtered animals makes sense for everyone.

One person can enjoy better health and save 100 lives each year simply by going vegetarian.

Choose compassion over cruelty to animals and improved health over heart diseaseand cancer—go vegetarian!

Do you consider it double manslaughter if a pregnant woman gets hit and killed by a drunk driver? Do you consider it wrong if a pregnant animal's unborn animal is intentionally terminated for whatever reason?

Because the prolife mindset is that you are killing an unborn child. And the prochoice mindset is that it's not a child and has no rights to life until it is born. Whereas a clearly living animal already born has a right to life that no one respects except vegetarians. Ergo a person can believe that children and animals start life at birth and neither one should be murdered. No double standard.

I feel man is a predator as is most other animals on this earth. We are just a little bit better at it. If you choose a vegetarian lifestyle then that is your choice but others shouldn't be vilified for making a different choice.

Great billboards! Would they allow PETA on the campus giving free samples of vegetarian food as well? I remember when I was in college money was tight my parents were newly divorced my mother was dying of cancer and the only money we had coming in was from her disability check and my parttime tutoring jobs so anything I could get for free on campus especially food was of real interest...and yes PETA as new as they were they were just coming into national promenence was there regularly giving out samples and recipes. Thanks for getting me through some hungry days PETA.
