Seal Slaughter Starts Today!

This is it, people. If you haven't written to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee yet, today is the day. Not only did Canada's annual seal slaughter start today, they've actually increased the quota of seals that can be slaughtered. This means that seal killers can legally bash in the heads of up to 338,200 seals in the coming weeks. That's right—the world's biggest marine mammal slaughter just got bigger.

its a terrible way for animals to be killed. and how could anyone not be disturbed by all of the blood. now licensed hunting in the US seems to be okay to me. there are limits and regulations Animals kill and eat eachother. its part of life. but these men are not after food they cant honestly call this a sport and there is honestly nothing being gained from it. They get paid to run outside find and then beat a harmless animal to death. sadly there are those who dont care and those who even ENJOY the power they have over the seals. some people dont care about animals at all or other people for that matter. honestly the way people are raised has a serious effect on the way they see the world its a shame not everyone learns to respect animals or people for that matter. if you can take an innocent life and feel fine about it there is a serious problem.

Benny boy seal "hunting" is a FARCE!!! Why? Commercial seal "hunting" pays sweet fck all in real terms $1200 per seal hunter so I'm not sure how that's screwing the fishing industry oh and it's a seasonal activity don't forget that will you. My grandfather was also a fisherman and he agrees that the seal "hunt" is a disgrace as do most of the human race. The only night I will be able to sleep properly is the day it is abolished. Hopefully that will be soon.

BenAre you serious....to save the fishing industry????? Brutally torturing any animal to death or skinning them alive I'm positive is not supported by any religion even in cases of eating for survival...there are much quicker and painless methods....this is obviously a sport of athiasts and terrorists. My grandfather was a fisherman and he made a living without harming other animals that he may have had to compete with. If you can't acclamate to the area you live and survive then move and find another industry to work in..unless of course your only skill is murder of innocent animals. Give me a break.....I am definitely boycotting Canada for your lame comment about the fishing industry...that is truly pathetic.

that video or any video of them hitting the babies like that sends chills all over my body. breaks my heart hearing their little cries and yet the people who do this seem only to be out for one the the almighty buck. i wonder if they live a good home life you cannot possibly live with this on your conscience and then sleep at night knowing the horrible thisgs you have done to these animals. how do they explain to their children daddy has to go to work and club some baby seals. that is truly messed up!!!

Can society not cry out to stop these terrible acts of cruelty??? Because man has to power makes it all the more reason for man to use the power for good not evil. Evil at all levels must stop.

Absolutely disgusting and barbaric! All for the sake of the "almighty dollar"...its such a shame to see senseless acts of cruelty exist in our world but then again how cruel and barbaric have some humans become for greeds sake? How callous and uncaring have some humans become? Maybe we should club these subhumans to death and see how they like it see what their families have to say...maybe they will scream out in pain and angst while we club their "babies" to death or skin them alive...I bet things will change awfully quick! Shame on consumers who buy fur for pleasure wearing...its ridiculous to think they look "mahvelous" in their new fur jackets...how heartless are they for supporting this cause? Its time to put a STOP to all this madness...I support PETA and the ASPCA to prevent the inhumane treatment of ALL animals be it for consumption or pleasure...
