Joe Montana Loves a Good Veggie Burger

I got a story the other day through my “Super Bowl” Google alert that kind of surprised me. The story is about legendary San Francisco 49er QB Joe Montana having high blood pressure, but check out his great quote: "I would never have ordered a veggie burger before, but I just love a good veggie burger now," he says. "It's strange how your tastes change when you put your mind to it."

Some people do it to stop cruelty to animals, some for the environment, and others to fight world hunger. And some eat veggie meals purely out of self interest. Whatever, I still think it’s pretty cool that Joe Cool is eating veggie burgers these days.

I was a big meat eater before deciding to help end animal cruelty and now I think veggie burgers are delicious. I really can't tell the difference sometimes between a veggier burger or vegan chicken patty or veggie "meat" and the real thing. The veggie meatballs out there are exceptional. You can make a positive change save animals and enjoy a great nutritious meal. It is possible people who aren't willing to even try it are being very close minded. It's not much of a sacrifice to help animals from being tortured.

I guess your not a real vegetarian then michele since you put them into a different catagory. Plantarian maybe.

Brian Illness due to wheat exposure is extremely common in the United States. How very noble that you eat barely palatable food in an effort to save a cow's life. If my actions make someone like you sick then that only emboldens me to continue. I do eat other foods. Mostly vegetables and fruits but also with lots of other wild game. Occasionally I will enjoy a slow smoked brisket or a thick rare ribeye or a delicious rack of ribs you don't know what your missing chief.

Yeah I guess the legume and whole grains food groups somehow got eliminated right Ariel? I guess we will just have to eat things like cherry mud pies and broccoli with mud sauce from now on. I am actually going to be eating a yummy couscous salad for lunch today and apparently the recipe does NOT call for dirt! Imagine that... Brian awesome post!

Michele "To answer your question about why the anti's are obsessed with coming on an ar site I think there are many reasons however I think it is mainly because they are concerned about the progress being made worldwide in the ar movement and they feel that they have to attack us every chance they get not realizing how ridiculous they end up sounding." Answer. Your Cholesterol. The debate over veggie burgers isn't going to get anybody very far. And Doc I find it extremely hard to believe that you eat deer all the time but even if you did you don't deserve a reward. It doesn't matter how processed something is when what you're eating isn't a compassionate thing to eat before it was processed. And bye the bye the stuff the put into veggie burgers processed wheat flour is far better from the hundreds of unnecessary things in your meat. I can't understand the self justification of killing something else that operates like us from the minds of sentient beings. I can only imagine what kind of fear hatred confusion and dim wittedness it takes to slaughter something that was once free to live of its own will. It makes me sick to know that people that don't want to have to think about what they are eating think so much about how to defend that lifestyle that they have to find excuses to keep eating like that. Yuck.
