I Love My, Ummm, FusionDog?

"I love my natural dog." I know I know.. too cryptic?

May I humbly ask why there already is a slogan "I love my Golden Retriever" but not one that states "I love my mutt"? A Golden Retriever could be a shelter dog but could a mutt be a breeder's dog? Yes and no. Mutt owner do let their mutts breed but they generally do not do it for money. The spayneuter campaign has been targeting this audience in the pastpresent? If I understand PETA correctly the goal of this particular campaign is to instill some new awareness that purebreds have been breed on purpose as marketable brands for profit and that this is a questionable practise? The implications reach beyond shelters and the overpopulation crisis. The genetic health of the individual is as much in danger when incest and inbreeding are accepted by society. No offense I know many eg Golden Retrievers and I love them.. but they are not the brightest cookies on the block brain size is generally diminishing in purebreds for the same reasons as it would be in humans? Why do so many purebreds like German Shepherd die so soon? Unaltered wolves who can mate and have offspring with German Shepherd or other dogs live longer than the genetically inbred dog? "I love my mutt" sounds like a classic. "I love my shelter dog" is also great but for other reasons. I understand that the "incestfree dog" idea would shock many.. it would spark furry. people would go mad.. they would attack anybody who would make the indirect claim that their purebred was some sort of Frankenstein creation? PETA once again would prove that they in fact hate animals.. they would want all animals to go extinct! Animal lovers should be afraid of PETA.. protect your purebreds.. PETA wants to kill them all! Chances are that fewer people would stick it on their car as well? but it would be a "new" truth.. thrown into the black whole of social consciousness? If incest is not acceptable for humans or any wild species why practise it with "our best friend" only because he happens to be considered as our tradeable property? Dogs are not Ford Ts they are not fashion items! Incest is NOT cloning it is NOT copying it is NOT reproducing. It is genetically and morally WRONG and causes needless SUFFERING!

I love "diamond in the woof" but if that was on the back of my car no one would have any idea what it meant. I don't think we need a cute new name for mutts I think mutt is a cute word already. Plus everyone knows what it means and anyone who's ever had one can relate to the idea of mutt pride. I also like "I love my rescue dog." "Shelter dog" doesn't apply to everyone. My dogs are former street dogs that we took in bypassing the shelter. "Rescue dog" is more inclusive but then not all rescue dogs are mutts a lot of people rescue purebreds who have been abandoned then rehomed by breedspecific rescue groups. So if the goal here is primarily to boost mutt pride then we should Just Say Mutt.
