Protest at Falcons Training Camp

Welcome to Day 7 of the Michael Vick dogfighting indictment. PETA is still being inundated with calls and emails about the case, and we’re still working round the clock to make sure that the NFL and Vick’s sponsors send a real message to fans about the cruelty of dogfighting, rather than just sitting around to see what will happen next. I’ll have some more updates for you in a little while, but in the meantime, here are some great photos from today’s PETA demonstration outside Falcons HQ. You can be certain that there’s more where that came from.

Ohio State Buckeyes fans out there will recognize the man on the left of this first photo—Bill Long, the QB for the Buckeyes in the 60s who led them to a national championship in 1968, is a longtime animal activist who’s been working this whole week in Atlanta on this campaign. Bill, you’re amazing.

I am appauled at how some have put racism to blame for the rosponses of Mike Vick's indictment. He has been charged for a Federal offense so there is clearly some evidence that leads to his accusations. Don't you think? I can respect your knowledge of the law that the facts should be recognized before passing judgement on one's indictment but it's Federal people! The law doesn't judge by race but by facts the fact is this "Mike Vick" this "NFL God" has been accused of a serious offense. So it is human nature to grow hatred for someone that has been accused for such a cruel inhumane act. With that said I think that ignorance overides race any day!!

I think many need to understand the difference between killing animals for food and the killing of animals for fun. Dogfighting is a sick and disgusting sport helpless animals suffering for the entertainment of man. How can anyone confuse survival with pleasure. I support Peta 100. Perhaps Mr. Vick would understand if he were "wetted down" and shocked after missing a throw. Somehow I doubt he gets it.....

oaktown 101 i start to ask myself who on this blog is the racist i know the american history well and it was not just the black people who suffered you cannot through all the centuries hide yourself and your crimes behind a once occurred bad treatment also a black criminal is a criminal never mind what colour he has! the colour has nothing to do with a person and the blacks were abused not because of their black color this was just a pretext but because they were sold in africa by their own people and the abusers in the new world didn't abuse them because of their colour they knew exactly that a human being is a human being but because they couldn't defend themselves and they did the job. the natives never did the job they never could put them to slavery they rather died! but this is another chapter! ok human is human and animal is animal and we have to respect the two! every living being has the right for a respectful life and a respectful death! ok?

What on earth does Michael Vick's skin colour have to do with any of this??? The man is accused of a crime and you are either trying to minimize it or use a civil rights defense?? The man lacks moral fibre. There have been women assaulted at his home and dog carcasses found behind his house. Maybe running down a field with a ball is fun to watch but there are actually people of all races and genders who use their time to better the plight of mankind.It isn't corporate endorsements that make the man. It is day to day conduct that that we are defined by. Were PETA ancestors involved in gaining rights for the black when they were being tortured and beaten. Well actually yes they were. Anyone who attempts to help the oppressed and weak have been met with abuse such as the anti peta comments I have read on this blog. You have early rights activists to thank for being able to do that.

THIS IS NOT A CASE OF INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY! This man associated himself with dog fighting by allowing his home to be used. It is such a sick and cruel act that even being associated with someone that participates in this act disqualifies you from being part of any organization that sells a "family product". The man's career is over and I wouldn't be too surprised if people start attacking him in the street. He is a sick person and deserves no less in my opinion.

Though I am sure that most PETA staff members and supporters would agree that killing people is wrong this is an ANIMAL rights organization people do not donate to PETA so that their money can be used for humans the A in PETA stands for "ANIMALS"!!! You are idiots! And big boo hoo that Vick will be taken away from his team he should have thought about the consequences of his utterly barbaric actions long before now. The pit bulls that he tortured and kiss my ass about this "innocent until proven guilty" shit there is no way that he is innocent based on the evidence that they actually found on HIS property did not have a choice in what happened to them. They had to suffer the consequences of some vile psychopathic greedy bastards. It is just sickening!
