Urgent: Urge Hunt County, Alabama, Officials to Rescue Cow With Gunshot Wound!

PETA was alerted early this week to the plight of a hapless cow reportedly suffering from a bad gunshot wound to his right leg. Photos of this injured cow can be seen here and here. Compassionate residents in Camp Hill, Alabama, have worried about this suffering animal as he hobbled on his swollen, injured leg. His hoof buckles under at the joint, so he is essentially bearing his weight on his ankle. This has apparently gone on for at least a week! Camp Hill officials assured PETA caseworkers that immediate action would be taken to secure this cow's welfare, but no such action was taken. Now the owner, Stanley Sullivan of Allgood Street, is allegedly claiming that the cow is "missing." This animal was last seen by our complainants on Wednesday, July 29, languishing in a yard near his owner's property, and we fear that he's being hidden away, suffering from his painful injury without relief.

Please urge officials to act promptly in order to locate and confiscate this suffering cow and to file charges if appropriate. It is vital that all correspondence be polite!
