Tell Assistant U.S. Attorney to Prosecute Egregious Abuse at AgriProcessors

After reviewing video footage taken by an undercover PETA investigator, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) concluded that Postville, Iowa-based AgriProcessors—the largest glatt kosher slaughterhouse in the world—repeatedly violated provisions of the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act while federal inspectors looked on and did nothing.

In the undercover video footage,  workers can be seen shocking animals in the face with electric prods, slitting their throats open and pulling out their tracheas while they’re still conscious, dumping them—frightened and desperately struggling—onto the ground in their own blood, and then waiting for them to die. Many of the animals struggled and stood up while blood was pouring from their throats, and they took several long minutes to die.

Despite PETA’s video and the USDA’s findings, Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Teig has brought no charges against AgriProcessors Inc. and has refused to disclose any rationale or explanation as to why he does not feel the case does not warrant prosecution.

Please join us in asking Mr. Teig to hold AgriProcessors accountable for its crimes.

Please be courteous when calling and writing.
