URGENT: Portsmouth, Virginia, Public Schools Using Cruel Glue Traps!

Parents of students attending public K-12 schools in Portsmouth, Virginia, report that Portsmouth Public Schools is using glue traps to kill rodents. PETA has already apprised district officials of the disease risks posed by using glue traps as well as the extreme cruelty involved, but this information has apparently been ignored.

Glue traps are some of the cruelest products on the market, causing immense and prolonged suffering. Panicked rodents often tear themselves apart in their frantic struggle to escape the sticky mess. Exhausted and terrified, they die of shock, dehydration, asphyxiation, or blood loss. Death can take more than 24 hours! Trapped rodents also often scream in distress, traumatizing staff and children. Further, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warn against using glue traps because of disease risks (ensnared rodents often defecate and urinate out of stress and fright).

Please contact Portsmouth Public Schools today! Please politely ask district officials to remove all glue traps immediately and to join the many academic institutions that have sworn off the cruel devices for good!
