In an attempt to
promote its new 2012 "Hopper" DVR, Dish Network included live
kangaroos and wallabies in many of its promotional events. Once PETA got wind
of this, we reached out to Dish Network and explained how animals used in the
entertainment industry are abused. Not wanting to be associated with such
cruelty, the satellite broadcaster stated that its future plans call only for
stuffed and inflatable kangaroos and people in kangaroo costumes.
