BIOQUAL Ends Chimpanzee Experiments

June 2012

(formerly SEMA), for the purpose of introducing a shareholder resolution urging the company to end experiments on chimpanzees—and soon after PETA called on the National Institutes of Health to cut funding for tests on chimpanzees at the notorious facility—the company announced that it will end the practice after decades of cruel experiments. These experiments and the cruel confinement of chimpanzees and other primates in tiny metal cages at BIOQUAL were first exposed by PETA in 1987 in a shocking video called “Breaking Barriers.”
