Position Objective:
To provide clerical support and other assistance to the director of special gifts in order to enhance the cultivation and solicitation of major donors
Term of Employment:

Reports to:
Director of Special Gifts
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Identify important information to share with donors from both external and internal sources, including PETA staff reports, news clips, PETA Web sites, etc.
- Research background information on donors and prospective donors
- Generate donor correspondence and other correspondence, as requested
- Produce specialized reports detailing individual giving histories and trends as well as other reports to assist in the development of solicitation strategies for donors
- Process information and merchandise requests for specific donors
- Verify and input donor data into the donor database, including demographic, donation, membership, and personal information
- Assist with the preparation and proofreading of mailings
- Process expense reimbursement requests and other financial forms
- Schedule donor meetings and appointments
- Provide additional assistance for special projects and events, as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in an office environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good proofreading skills
- Experience with the Windows operating system, Word, and Excel required
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Ability to articulate PETA’s objectives and represent the organization to others
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
