Position Objectives:
To design, develop, and implement Flash applications for the PETA Foundation
Term of Employment:
Full-time
Reports to:
Lead Developer
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop technical functionality and implementation of Flash components, including games, e-cards, Web sites, and videos
- Work with the design and development team to ensure that all projects are handled efficiently and accurately
- Research and implement innovative scripting techniques and stay up to date on the latest Flash enhancements and versions
- Communicate with other department staff members about the latest Flash functionality
- Write documentation about how to update and maintain Flash elements and standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and three or more years of experience programming in Flash/Flex/ActionScript
- Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming and experience implementing OOP concepts with ActionScript
- Working knowledge of XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, and XML
- Adobe Photoshop, Image Ready, and Illustrator skills are a plus
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills and enjoy technical challenges
- Must be self-motivated and able to multitask
- Must be able to take initiative to be productive and efficient
- Must be able to function independently and still work well as part of a team
