Member Services Representative

Position Objective:

To enter data into the computer to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of members of and contributors to the organization and to act as the primary contact for donors with concerns regarding membership issues

Term of Employment:

Full-time

Reports to:

Membership Services Manager

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide excellent service to members through correspondence and on the telephone
  • Process and send members return donation correspondence for incomplete checks or credit card donations for any other reason that a banking institution is unable to process the funds
  • Data entry for a variety of  information to member files
  • Handwrite acknowledgement cards to be mailed to the donors and recipients of special gift donations
  • Balance the donations entered to the batch totals provided by the caging vendor
  • Assist other staff members with questions
  • Verify and complete missing information required for data entry
  • Perform other duties as requested by the manager

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of data entry experience
  • Proficiency using a 10-key calculator
  • Ability to accurately type minimum of 35 words per minute
  • Working knowledge data base mail-merge systems
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lb. up and down stairs
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
  • Knowledge of animal rights issues and current PETA campaigns
