Thank You for Your Interest in PETA’s ‘Caring Consumer’ Campaign

In addition to listing hundreds of companies and charities that do and that don’t test on animals, PETA’s Shopping Guide for Caring Consumers includes everything from companies that sell vegan shoes, clothing, and accessories to animal ingredients and their alternatives to money-saving coupons. Please order one today.

To see if the company or charity you are inquiring about is listed in our guide, please visit the links below:

If a company or charity is not listed, it’s because of one or more of the following reasons:

  • It has a parent company that tests on animals and has not assured PETA that it will adhere to a “no animal testing” policy regardless of the parent company’s policies.
  • We have no information regarding the company’s testing policies.
  • It claims to be cruelty-free but has not yet signed the PETA statement of assurance (for product companies) or our humane charity statement of assurance (for charities), which must be done in order to be listed.

We hope that you’ll help us with this campaign by taking a moment to write to those companies and charities that are not listed. Doing so will demonstrate that animal testing is an urgent issue that affects consumer buying and donation trends. In addition to suggesting that the company or charity take the necessary steps to join PETA’s cruelty-free company or charity program (you can direct it to CaringConsumer.com or HumaneSeal.org for more information), please also ask the following questions:

  • If you’re contacting a company: Does it test its products, ingredients, or formulations on animals or contract with an outside laboratory to conduct animal testing?
  • If you’re contacting a charity: Does it fund any organizations that are involved with and/or contribute to animal research projects?
  • If you’re contacting either a company or a charity: If it does not use animals, is its decision a permanent commitment to the use of only humane alternatives?

If you are assured that the company or charity maintains a cruelty-free policy, please ask to have this confirmed in writing, and forward any confirmations you receive to Info@peta.org or mail them to:

PETA’s Caring Consumer Project
501 Front St.
Norfolk, VA 23510

We will contact the company’s representatives and encourage them to sign the PETA statement of assurance.

If you are writing regarding animal ingredients and/or their alternatives, please click here. If you are still unsure of an ingredient’s source after viewing the ingredients factsheet, then you should contact the company directly to inquire. If we have not addressed your question with this information, please take a moment to visit AskCarla.com. This Web site contains specific company, charity, and product information that you may find helpful.

Thanks for everything you do for animals.

I wish to change my postal address for PETA mailings.
I’m having a problem with a feature on a PETA Web site.
