Ad Urges Maligned Males to Go Vegan in Order to Get Laid and Feel Great

Hagerstown, Md. -- It's no fun being called fat and ugly, especially when the insult is broadcast and printed all over the Today show, Good Morning America, and a Web site that claims more than 12 million female visitors. Just ask the men of Hagerstown, who were just named the second ugliest in the nation by TotalBeauty.com. PETA is negotiating with outdoor advertisers to erect a billboard in the city that shows an unattractive, overweight man next to the tagline "The 400-Pound Virgin: Lose Weight. Look Great. Get Laid. Go Vegan." The billboard aims to let Hagerstown males know that the best thing they can do for their appearance and their sex life--not to mention for animals--is to avoid meat.

"America's obesity epidemic makes the case for eating meat, dairy products, and eggs hard to swallow," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "If the men of Hagerstown want to get off the ugly list, the best thing that they can do is go vegan." 

The survey was based on a number of factors, including rates of obesity and levels of exercise. The good news is that going vegan will help almost everyone lose weight. Vegans weigh 10 to 20 pounds less, on average, than their meat-eating counterparts. Also, eating meat, eggs, and dairy products has been linked to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other killers--hardly conditions that enhance one's sex appeal. Speaking of sex, evidence indicates that meat, eggs, and dairy products can cause impotence because they slow the flow of blood to all the body's vital organs, not just the heart.

Eating a healthy, plant-based diet is also the best thing that anyone can do to help stop the routine abuse of animals raised and killed for food. Animals on factory farms are subjected to mutilations and branding without being given any painkillers and are often slaughtered and dismembered while still conscious.
