 PETA members have handed out hundreds of fur coats and hats—donated by former fur-wearers and devalued with armbands reading “recycled fur”—outside homeless shelters to society’s neediest people, the only ones who have any excuse for wearing fur.

Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan congratulated Debra Callegari, Toni Danile, and Donna Paugh, who each donated a fur coat on the same day, marking the 10,000th fur sent to PETA by a former wearer.
