Pam Anderson and PETA “Steak Out” Heftiest Hometowns Be a Sport With Dan Shannon

Exchanging her trademark red Baywatch bathing suit for a lettuce–leaf bikini, PETA supporter Pamela Anderson posed for our newest advertisement urging people to try vegetarianism.

Turn Over a New Leaf — and Trim Your Trunk! After Men’s Fitness named the chunkiest cities in the U.S. and the U.K. and Statistics Canada weighed in on the heaviest Canadian cities, PETA erected Pamela’s slim and sexy advertisement in Liverpool, ranked as the U.K.ís fourth–fattest city. We also turned Pamela’s pro–veggies pose into postcards and sent them to all the restaurant managers in the tubbiest towns, urging them to give rotund residents a chance to slim down by expanding their vegetarian selections.

The Veggie Belle of the Vienna Opera Ball
When Pamela Anderson was invited to the world–famous Vienna Ball, she invited PETA’s Dan Mathews to be her date. Some patrons were afraid to come, fearing PETA might throw red paint or dead animals at them! In newspaper interviews, Dan assured them, “We will win you over with our waltzing,” and they did. The pair wore PETA’s “no fur” buttons, presented organizers with a fabulous fake fur donated by designer Marc Bouwer and went on national TV to promote veggies by unveiling Pamela’s enticing lettuce bikini billboard in Vienna. And when Pamela visited a local shopping mall to sign autographs, she made sure thousands of fans got another vote for veggies by passing out copies of the ad.

Want to Lose Weight? Chuck the Cheese and Beef

No need to skip meals, spend every free minute at the gym or experiment with risky fad diets in order to lose weight. The simple, permanent weight–loss solution is to go vegetarian.

Studies published in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition and the New England Journal of Medicine have found that vegetarians are far less likely to be overweight than meat–eaters. Even so–called “skinny meats” like fish and poultry are sky–high in fat compared to vegetarian foods.
