ANIMAL TIMES® READERS ARE HELPING THE ANIMALS
Vegetarians are sprouting up all over Halifax, Nova Scotia, thanks to Jennifer Surrette and the Animal Rights Collective of Halifax. The group has distributed more than 1,500 cards plugging PETAs vegetarian starter kit by displaying the cards in holders in local restaurants, music stores and other outlets. The holder at Tareks Lebanese deli, which serves vegetarian sandwiches and other animal-friendly fare, needs refilling every week!
You can help spread the word by contacting PETA for a free supply of display holders and cardsthen displaying them in local businesses. To order, contact PETA or visit GoVeg.com.
Gerda Chason could think of no better tribute to her son, Clifford, an ardent animal defender, than to put up animal rights billboards along the highway where Clifford was killed. Thanks to Gerdas touching memorial, commuters are learning how they can help animals by making simple lifestyle changes, such as eating a humane diet (Clifford was a vegetarian) and adopting animals from shelters instead of buying them from pet shops. If you would like to sponsor an ad or a billboard in your community, please contact PETA.
