All entries must be received no later than midnight EST on November 1, 2009. Winners will be selected and notified by March 1, 2010.
To receive the $10,000 grand prize, the challenge winner must meet two criteria: (1) The original recipe must obtain the highest score when it is taste-tested by a panel of five judges, and (2) the purely vegetarian foie gras must be served on a fine-dining menu. The recipe will be judged on its similarity to traditional foie gras in taste, texture, and form. Runner-up prizes of $1,000 in kitchen equipment will be awarded to each of the two participants who receive the second- and third-highest scores.
