Your Mouse Can Help Cats and Dogs—and Other Animals Too!

Think that animal activism always requires you to pound the pavement or dress up like a chicken? If feathers (faux, of course) aren't your style, one great place to get active for animals is on the Internet. Whatever you do online—surfing, journaling, shopping, e-mailing, using instant messenger, etc., you can add a component to help animals. Not sure where to begin? Below are some ways to get your feet wet.

Spread a Kind Word

Put a dash of wisdom into every e-mail you send by including a kind, inspirational, or meaningful quote in your signature:

"I expect to pass through the world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer it, for I shall not pass this way again."
—Stephen Grellet, 1773-1855, Quaker leader

For more quotes, visit PETA's Action Center.

You can further drive this point home by linking to a Web site such as AnimalActivist.com or PETAInteractive.com, where people learn how to help animals.

Educate Others

If you read an article about fur fashions or encounter a pro-hunting message board posting, take a few minutes to share your feelings on animal exploitation. Not sure what to say? You can keep it as simple as: "Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment. For more information, visit PETA.org." Or if you feel inspired, bookmark our factsheets, which are filled with current information and statistics on our campaign areas.

Send a Friendly Message

Animal-friendly e-cards are fun and easy ways to speak out.

Order Delivery

By subscribing to our e-newsletters or our newsfeeds, you'll get the latest information delivered straight to your inbox.

Got Web Space?

If you have a Web site, activism is as easy as adding a link to or a banner from one of PETA's Web sites. We have dozens to choose from online. Also consider streaming one of our videos on your page or profile.

Another great feature that we offer is the ability to automatically have action alerts and news releases post to your Web site. With just a small snippet of code (so easy!), you may help us reach thousands of additional people every day.

Guilt-Free Shopping

When you shop at PETABookstore.com, PETAMall.com, and PETACatalog.com, a portion of your purchase benefits programs to help animals.
